It’s that time again!  Our traditional presentation of ORIGINAL ONE-ACT PLAYS will be announced later.  But first…we need scripts!  Playwrights anywhere and everywhere are invited to submit their original works for consideration.

We will begin accepting submissions February 1. We will accept them through March 31.  After March 31, this feature will be closed.

And now…THE RULES!  Plays must never have been produced.  Plays may not feature more than five characters.  Plays may not be more than 25 pages.  A playwright may submit no more than two entries.

There is a $20.00 SUBMISSION FEE per play.  To submit your original work, email in PDF FORM to summershortsscriptsfortwo@gmail.com.  Please write SUMMER SHORTS SCRIPTS on the subject line of the email.  Then return to this site and click on BUY TICKETS to pay the fee.  You may also call the Box Office at (270) 683-5333.  We will accept payment over the phone.

*Attention Playwrights:  When submitting your manuscript, DO NOTinclude your name on the title page!  Your name and contact info must be on a SEPARATE ATTACHMENT to be included in the email.  This is to ensure that all plays will be and judged anonymously.  We don’t want to know who’s who until after all submissions have been rated.*

THE BEST PART:

CASH PRIZES will be awarded to the piece voted BEST PLAY by our committee of readers, and to the play chosen as AUDIENCE FAVORITE.  The award for BEST PLAY is $500.  For AUDIENCE FAVORITE, it is $250.  One year, the same playwright won both awards!  He was a happy man!
